I thought...
perhaps that was my mistake
I thought when we laughed
when we talked
when we played
that you cared
I thought
That for a moment
I shone like a star
Center stage in spotlight
It all revolved around me
The shine was the glimmer
of gaudy neon lights
on shattered glass
unseen
crushed beneath passing feet
to nothing
I clung
To words and promises
life preservers in the tempest
When you learned that I was broken
lost now and in need
One hand clung to the thread
the other reached to you
you turned
I watched you walk away
Time for letting go
of dreams that never were
Hopes that will never be
I release the thread
and close my eyes
and let the storm take me

I really enjoyed this.
Very sad in a way, though.

Your wounded writing, wounds this reader. Can't help being sympathetic to this. Makes me recall the way that I've lived.

awwww sad! It kinda puts the reader in a trance though, it's so powerful and it seems like it's got so much meaning to it. I'm putting this one in my library too! Keep writing, as always, I loved it.

life may just take a while but i guess heaven's worth the wait

I'm glad Mike brought it up from the dark, another intense write young lady. You truly dig deep within yourself when you write, giving us a glimpse inside. Another literary masterpiece of woven feelings that weave together so well it is read as tapestry for the mind to feel. Very much enjoyed this "storm".
