This is what happens when I spend an evening listening to nothing but gothic music with a pounding headache.

Anyway..........

My dear darkness
And the mirror fell earthward,
its silver face traced the sun down.
It smashed into the sea,
drowned itself among that light.
No one ever found it whole;
but pieces came to shore to die.
They reflected the gray of the sky
eaten away by salt and sand.

The sun would still play with its kill,
pressing its face from piece to piece,
a silent song for the death of light
among its own creation.
The frame was never found.
It grew as large as the floor of the sea.
A pane of moving, dark water
to drown and pound ahead to dreams.

My dear darkness,
that reflection is amiss.
My dear darkness,
you are a snowy kiss.
My dear darkness,
send your song across the shore.
My dear darkness.
Give me it. Give me more.

And the mirror fell skyward.
It crushed apart and made our stars.
And I prayed to its disintegrated face
to trace me silver where you are.
I became the sun.
Oh, I watched you die.
But you see, the sun can burn
but he cannot cry.

My dear darkness,
send your taste to me.
My dear darkness,
bring the moon to comfort me.
My dear darkness,
I can't set the world alight.
My dear darkness
make me clouds among your night.

We wished on clouds. We wished on stars.
We drowned the sea. We drowned afar.
And the mirror fell backward.
And the moon took my place.
And I lie hear on the beach
where I still search for your face.

My dear darkness,
oh take me down.
My dear darkness,
dig me deep into your ground.
My dear darkness,
so I may touch your heart.
My dear darkness.

We must never part.

She said burn ... together.

...

Wow.

I'm speechless, baby...

*kiss*

Wow.

I think I need t' load you down with s'more goth albums, in hopes of something like this happening again, huh?

Elements of Steinman and early Cure. Like Pornography and Top Cure. In fact, the words "give me it" have now put that exact song in my head. Prolly irepairably...

I love you. You always amaze me.

back

Well, lessee, Faith and the Muse inspired "Siren song" and "The rain over the sea."

The Cure inspired a bunch of poems, among them "Dead car," "Dark girl in violet, "As far away as that," "The ache of falling apart," etc.

Sisters of Mercy inspired "Pandorean ocean."

Bauhaus inspired the ridiculously cute "Black evening" and the sorta cool "Cinnamon fields."

Siouxsie and Type O Negative infuses a lot of the thinking in my Adult poems, not to mention TON is my signature!

So yes, that music has a way with me.

I was such an opinionated brat then. Read th' poem if y' want, but my replies are soooo embarrassing.

Of course, if you actually just went and read all those, you need to get out more.

And there's plenty more where that came from, if y' want.

You just blow me away sometimes..I read your poetry and just shake me mothy head and yell at the screen..HES SO COOL!!!!!
and I had to smile at your replies on this...
about how you used to reply...do ya remember when ya asked me "not to worship" your poetry...that it made you feel like you wouldnt be able to live up to it the next time you wrote? I TOLD ya youd get used to me  LOL and? I TOLD you I had the utmost faith in your ability to relight the sky each time youd pick up your pen....
and now--its what? 2 years later, and your still proving me right...
YEAH...I got me poetic knee pads on...

This is hands down the best poem I have read in a very long time. The imagery is astounding. I wish I knew where your mind and heart were at the moment you wrote this.

It is immense beauty.

The darker and moodier the goth, the better it is for inspiration.
