crackling sneer
scarbright
on tanned
veneer
plagued by alone
standing crone
among her ancient eden

           They sidewalked on their way
           sidelong glances was her pay
           haunted through her painted gaze
she branded each with numbered days

no gossip would reveal
that every I had seen the same
but subconscious listened
          heard her lips glisten
              whispering every name

For they had all
sub-urbaned
on her
disturbed remains
and she was
beyond subtle
       ghostly
       pleasures

I never aimed at reality; I aimed at truth. --Orson Welles
