The Bath

A hard scrubbing lye
excites skin and
reddens a filthy
liquid lust

Scour soft pores
and remove the scum
of wasteful hardened rust

Wait for the flesh
to boil off weakened bones -
fall into a steaming pile
of stank gelatinous must
and wash away
with the next rain's
acid bath of
noxious putrid puss

Now, we are clean

I'm betting you feel
