The darkness nears to punch my mind.
A tickle forming into my eyes.
All I see is sudden red.

At the edge of falling moon.
Watching ground grow to the sky.
Watching autumn there, aglow.

Where I land among the sea.
Ocean caress, betterment.
Sets me back to shore, alone.

Where I lie and count my dreams.
Counting them through -- they sleep.
Leaving me the shadow grain.

Why the skeleton in my bed?
I count my bones, tongue to teeth.
I hold the ceilings. Their marrow rooms.

If I only knew to sleep.
To put the pillow there, to lay
and dream again, among that peace.

Yet those headlights rove on me.
Those dogs bark. I sweat the sheets.
I sweat the sweet night. Away. Where's she?

These smiling eyes are just a mirror for the sun.

You are good at creating an atmosphere to
match the moods of your poems, and that is
hard to do(for me anyway).

Staring into the sun just makes you blind to what beauty actually exists in the sky.

Naw, see, babe, insomnia is MY territory (point of proof: I almost said MAY). Though you write better poetry about it than I do.
