My thoughts are as cold as a corpse, frozen
in the dead of winter.
Every half-witted line sticks under my skin
like a wooden splinter.

How many more times must I fail
before I finally get it right?
How many more hours must pass
before it comes to me tonight?

So very frustrating it is, my thoughts are stagnant
and caught in the muck.
Five O' Clock in the morning, writin' about
how my brain is stuck.

It's like a classic Greek tragedy when a poet, or artist
just loses his touch
It feels like someone just cut off both my hands so I can't express
my thoughts, as such.

Maybe over time I'll get back what little I had then,
who knows?
But it looks like the well just ran empty,
as far as tonight goes.

As long as I care...I will never truly be free.

effective poem about the frustration about not being satisfied with your writing......
lol..nothing like a little writer's block for inspiration. Is that contradictory or what?!

enjoyed

I will not bend to the cowardice of a silent judgement.
