A day I had

There was a day I once had
I had to do a lot
Just like the morals I was taught
I ended up on the last rung
Ladder of morality snakes, I slid
Even as I climbed, I did

There was a day I once had
I had a lot to say
Truth to be told lies to kill
But all along the way
Neither the guts, nor the will
Even as I lied, I did

There was a day I once had
Happy, I was and bright
The world I saw ate that away
Along with it, my might
Never happy another day
Even as I sighed, I did

There was a life I once lived
Where even as I lived, I died

This has a even, lyrical, song-like quality

Thankx, guys. This is one of my older pieces.....teen angst, I guess.
And yeah, I wrote this piece listening to Metallica, so it has a song like quality....
