All things they say~ must drip to an end Tears shed in vain~ become my holy sin Two years in passing~ I loved with my life Two weeks in between~ Death and sacrifice Two days of hopelessness~ within darkened disease Two hours tiny lungs~ cease to breathe... *This is a sad song for my babies. I had my rat of two years die about two weeks ago of upper respiratory problems (cried like a baby) and now my female has gotten the same disease... as I sit with her staring...wishin oh wishing I could do something to fix this... but I cannot...so I sit still...waiting, waiting, for her breath to cease as well... still crying like a baby...* Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |

losing a pet is like loosing part of oneself it seems silly to people who dont have one arthur |

My hamster died of a respiratory disease... I was about 12 then, and she was actually in my hands as she died. I bawled like only a 12-year-old can. Her name was Merit, and she was about 1 1/2 years old. Now my ferret (pet of the past five years) has cysts on her endocrine gland and is slowly wasting away.... Owy. Rats are depressing, depressing critters. They die so soon! To note: My tawny rat, Mushroom, died only a few years after giving birth to a litter. She was the sweetest, most gentle-tongued girl creature. I really loved her. She died of a twisted stomach. One of her offspring, Skunky, died because he had a rare malformation where his teeth were growing through his skull. And poor, poor Hood. Another offspring. My mom's baby. She died of a tumor the size of a baseball. My mom said when she took her to the vet to have her put down, the vet put her on a smiley face "Have a nice day" towel. I hate vets. Another reason why I hate vets: When they were putting Patches down, our 14-year old springer-spaniel-beagle dog whom had been part of my life since I was a newborn, the vet missed her vein the first time. She was whining and looking really scared. Then he finally got it in, and said "All aboard to the last train to tomorrow." HE SAID ALL ABOARD TO THE LAST TRAIN TO TOMORROW! Kris...and I would have been in COURT for that one man!!! and since when is country "bad"??? I am an all around girl...  arthur- don't I know it...I am a TOTAL animal lover (yes, even the slimy creatures are sexy! I've raised at least one of everything!!!) tracie- thanks for your support girlie...it means alot!!! Lori- I think it is sooo sad that these beautiful furry creatures only last so long...my rats are better pets than any dog I've ever had!!! hugs to your furry ones!!! Mike- you know...vets DO suck..most are unfortunantly in it for the money...I took my rat to the vet and they called her THAT ONE...not Gweny..but that one...C'mon now...would you like a punch in the face just like the one you JUST issued to my heart??? HELLO??? I see you are an aminaly lover too and I'm damn glad to see someone else with some compassion!!! You take care Mikey!!!! *UPDATE* Gweny is still hanging on and I've been hand feeding her so we will see what the morrow brings... keep your heart strings crossed people!!!
