the verdict was guilty
when those fateful words were sung
the trial was through and finished
the man was taken out to be hung

he hugged and kissed his children
and told his wife goodbye
he planned to be with them longer
but everything went awry

he thought about his family
and everything they'd been to him
if only he could tell them
but his futures looking grim

feeling deaths embrace
and a tear rolled down his face
he looked to the sky
and knew this was goodbye

they took the noose
and fastened it tight
now his wife and children
are all alone tonight

Nooses tend to end things
Supposedly
But the ambient love you portray
defies the breath twine takes away.

Again, nice poem.

You're fun.

These smiling eyes are just a mirror for the sun.
