A song is a poem put to music, so therefore lyrics are poems. So therefore I have way too many things I can post here. But I'll just stick to the ones I like.

Written through my punk-grrl alter-ego, Kim Kissably, the song I am very much so most proud of. Like ever.

BEST OF THE DYING

She had such a pretty face,
now I watch it waste away.
D’you know what they say
about the fatally ill?
Neither do I,
it’s all hush hush.
It’s something you just don’t talk about.

She had such a simple smile,
now I watch it twist in pain.
And how can I refrain
from crying with her?
I’m on my knees now,
it’s my turn to beg now,
I want everything back
right where it was.

The mirror shows me
this wasted girl,
this broken piece
of humanity.
I can’t tell you I’m sorry,
I can’t say I was wrong.
I can’t accept your forgiveness.

There she lies,
the best of the dying.
The slowest, softest suicide
to have ever been made.
There she lies,
screaming and crying.
Don’t get too close
or she’ll drag you down too.

She had beauty in her motion
and beauty in her words,
but she stands here as betrayal.
She lives here through betrayal.
She dies here in betrayal.

The mirror shows me
this wasted girl,
this broken piece
of humanity.
There’s nothing left
to be sorry about anymore.

There she lies,
the best of the dying.
The slowest, softest suicide
to have ever been made.
There she lies,
screaming and crying.
Don’t get too close
or she’ll drag you down too.

Don’t get too close.
She’ll take you along.

Devina, you HAVE to hear Lori sing... Holy slumpabumpa, she's awesome. A beautiful ache that tears itself apart and reappears again. So cool! God I love her.

I warned her she was a good writer. But she wouldn't listen to me. Glad y' all are hear t' reinforce th' truth.

She said burn ... together.

Mikhail, no offense, but yr biased. My morbid rodent. My erotigoth baby. Jeez, I have too many of these things bumping around.

Anyway, it's great hearing someone with no apparent reason for bias enjoying my work! And sometimes even someones, plural. I'll figure out how to shy my way out of this with some sort of all-encompassing "nah" eventually, I suppose.

And yes... I should sleep. Sometime. Eventually.

Feel my angsty reachiness!
