My Love

My Love was one
Who made the birds to sing!
And in the depth of winter,
Would turn my thoughts to spring.

She was the ending of my day,
Shared each mornings light,
And in between these lay,
A warm and loving night.

Sadly I turn from where she lays,
Leaving love,life and all delight.
Weary and listless are my days.
Cold and lonely are my nights.

To me, leaving love life and all delight would be the single most arduous task, albeit being the one left coping and wondering (& wandering)why one would leave is my neverending task.
Made me think, a lot. Good flow, good piece, sad nonetheless. Thanks.

Good work, arthur,

Nothin' like a good Love (gone) Poem to warm me cockles.

What exactly is a cockle?

Seriously.

cockle ?
for wranx
not sure to be honest
it is of course a shell fish
( Molly Molone wheeled her wheel barrow ,through streets broad and narrow ,
singing ,cockles and muscles
alive ,alive ,O)
But for the life of me cannot see any connection with hearts

There is a phrase, "warms the cockles of my heart". Heart valves, Bi-valves, who knows?

Maybe it is a false memory, or a dream fragment, or a manifestation of some sort of (hopefully mild) insanity.

Cheers,

Love can be so sad. But beautiful to write about.
