a cry in the night Do not shout or I will break, In little pieces on the floor. Peace, for my poor minds sake, Or let me be no more. I can feel the trembling Running through me now. Let me cease dissembling, Dear God, destroy me now! My hands shake, Could I but sleep. Forever and ever awake OH God! Let me sleep. Let me cease to be. Give me peace. Let my eyes no longer see. Often I too wish to just be destroyed by God, if he does indeed exist. Usually it is a temporary, sort of instinctive, feeling of wanting to go away from the pain. Pain, or more generally, feeling, is what makes us human and makes us the only species that will actually inflict pain on itself. How sad. I like your poem, but this language is so plain. It's quite brooding, I can actually hear you screeching the word "God" with your fists in the air. Note: We may not be the ONLY species. You get my point though.
