In the distance
I hear a scream
A suffering soul
Is calling to me

I carry your sins
Upon my back
I pull you in
When you stray off track

I am your shadow
I am your light
I am your day
Burning your night

I walk beside you
And watch from above
As you live a life of hatred
Destroying all that you love

I empathize with this write. I've played both parts.

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".

Simple yet to the point! The best way to say what you want!! Yeah, I seem to carry everybody's burdens...know where you're coming from. Not a fun place, that's for sure! Thanks for the piece!

ES,
It's like two oily laces
tied together,
struggling to become untangled.
