“remembering”

towers tumble
to each other
shattered souls
torn asunder

holy war
holy terror
righteous action
human error

shock the monkey
break the banks
suicide bombers
in our ranks

lord of mercy
cast in chains
lord of chaos
darkness reigns

sacred land
chosen people
feel the hand
fear the reaper

Flag and country
hold new meaning
voices of
an eagle
screaming

Stand alone
stand as one
remembering
has just begun

Very well written and expressed.

Excellent piece, and it depicts well the strength that unity will now bring.  Well done!

Excellent write, Coyote...

Yes, maybe once there was peace...long ago, but I am afraid that there will never be peace again.

I do wish you'd post more in Open...I don't always make the rounds, and for your poetry, I should do so more often...

i like it as well - a light ditty with heavy meaning... catchy.
