EMOTION

Emotion on fire like dead winter grass
burns lines and circles in stillness of night
and smoke, the smoke of truth with no proof,
moves and rolls like thunder in sky.

It’s there in air for those who can feel,
no words to describe, no heart to decide,
ownership rights to the message it bears
delivered unwrapped in paper of lies.

I breathe and receive, think I’m deceived,
feel happy/sad tears trickle down cheeks,
but now my own supercede the unreal
and the cure I seek remains out of reach.

I look and seek through eyes into souls
not there, not there, it never is there
for the circles and lines can’t ever align
when smoke of truth hangs heavy in air.

The cure?  No cure, no way to disown
emotion of soul with a life of its own.
