My spirit is lead weight
I am lead weight
My heart is lead weight
My mind is lead weight

Together, they sink
Beneath the surface
Beyond which they
Are lost to sight,
As I am, as I feel.

My substance lost
In the underworld,
I struggle and search
For the answer,
The final truth
That will free me.

There is no answer,
And every foray
Becomes more a dark
Journey...

And more of me left
Behind with every
Trip...

So lonely am I,
I sink away,
My faithful counsel
Long since gone,
Gone into the distance.

No one left with whom
To ponderour philosophies,
With whom shared we
Our maladies,
Whose soothing voice
Once steadied me.

Deeper to obscurity
A lead weight drags
Me down.My fingers
Scrabble uselessly,
No purchase can be found.

Interesting poem.  Liked the ending, kinda spooky and witty.  Nice read.

"If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh"
