This poem was written by my grandmother after I made her a poem book, compiled of poems I have written & gave to her on X-mas! I just needed to share it, because it means so much to me!

ELMO!

"Ode to My Favorite Little Poet"

I need to find a reason,
to creep into her mind.
To delve into her verses,
to see what I could find.

It doesn't take an expert,
for me to plainly see,
that sometimes she is lonely,
& she's much too young to be.

Her poetry is lovely - but,
too many words are sad.
She needs to use some adjectives,
like Happy, Cheerful, Glad.

So now, my little poet,
it's time for me to say,
banish all those saddened words.
Write happy ones today.

And I don't need to tell her,
her hurts will disappear.
To let her know she's loved a lot,
& even more each year!
