Why do you take the beatings?
   To not disturb the fleeting?
Can you not see your worth?
   You hold on tightly to your purse,
But there, there goes your dignity,
   flowing down the stream of brutality.
You try to explain, you mention the passion,
   but it's rage, some form or fashion.
You take it, day in and day out,
   see the truth, I beg, and let it out!
You are not a worthless tramp.
   Admit, once and for all, there was no cramp.
You are loved by more than you know;
   stand up and fend off the blow!
Search and seek for help you'll find;
   there are those, loving and kind.
For the journey of time you let it brew...
   yell, loud and clear, "I will not drink this cup of stew."

I Know I'm dealing with a heavy issue here, but I wanted to offer this, for whatever it's worth.

Sincerely,
Titus

All I can say is ... been there and got the t-shirt ...... many times over.  No one can express someone elses reasons for remaining in that situation.  Very deep issue here yet very well written.

Yes, a deep issue indeed. For many years I saw and struggled with the reasons why, slowy I came to understand some of them. Still a deep and emotive issue.
