for my own selfless act
i give a pocketbook into the light
for some just for tonight
i give myself

for those that hurt
for those that sold

i've hurt so many
and for so long

i've been gone

i've climbed and fallen

all I've had I've thrown away

when it counts I kneel and pray

i've been before and made my choice
i won't again and made my choice

to help one is to help many
fear helps me to sleep

my loves are pure and full
maybe seeing is what I needed
