Holiday of Pain Copyright 2001 Written by James Edward Shields Sometimes people just don’t understand Sometimes they can’t comprehend Always against the grain Against the wind Holiday of pain Sometimes it’s like a disaster runaway Sometimes people just don’t want to see Ignore things around them Ignore possibility Holiday... Holiday of pain Sometimes I feel like hating Sometimes it’s more like love Sometimes I love to hate And others I hate to love Step into my world A holiday of pain Love it more each day And hate it all the same Things that I make others feel Things I make them think Eats me up But then it don’t Holiday of pain Things people make me feel Things they make me think Can just toll off my back Or drive me insane Holiday... People can not possibly understand nor comprehend where she has been. Seeing out for herself living within her reasons. In the realms of an uncertain destiny that is often mistaken for fate. Only to be carried by the winds of change that have blown everywhere, landing somewhere faraway on an island in the sun. She takes comfort in her seclusion where others have made the connection but never truly see the attraction. Perceived as a castaway adrift in a desperate situation perhaps even destitute, she's heard them say. But it is only she who knows her needs and what she can live with and without fending for herself, which is all she's ever had and all that she is left with. So like your holiday of pain and those you hate to love in time she's learned to ignore them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *I thought I should post this as a reply instead of as an inspired by* If you don't mind I might just post it sometime, with all due respect. Great poem, wonderful thoughts. I gotta say your title really grabbed me, hook line and sinker. What are holidays for anyway! Nice writing DP~ |

I feel honored to receive such a reponse. Almost speachless infact. With a reponse such as this I would have to say yes, you can use it  Good cannot exist without evil. Darkness I embrace. |
