The Day The World Watched
Copyright 2001
Written by James Edward Shields

The day the guns fell silent...
Sadness and tears
Looking to the sky
              But nothing’s there...
Clouds not of creation
              Destruction...
Brothers dying as the world watched
No help
Tears on the crumbling pyre

Guns raised in justice...
Resolve and pride
Looking to the sky
              F-16s overhead...
Protecting liberty on high
              Soaring...
United as one in this day
We stand
Staring into the flames

Good cannot exist without evil.  Darkness I embrace.

heh Thank you    I tried to write this without showing too much anger about what happened that day.  Instead I wanted to focus more on the events from that day.

Good cannot exist without evil.  Darkness I embrace.
