I saw a star
It fell for me
Amidst the dark
Yet jewel filled night

I thought how bizarre
This sight I see
A brilliant spark
All burning white

Why did it fall
How can this be
I asked for not
That it would die

I simply call
To God you see
For guidance sought
My lonely cry

But fall it did
Before my eyes
The heavens now
No more to grace

Farewell I bid
To God's surprise
Your love somehow
I'll not replace

A wish for you
My brightest friend
So that once more
You'll shine for me

With life anew
'Til heaven's end
You I'll adore
For eternity

Regret not that which you have done,
Rather that which you haven't
