I believed you
when you said those words
with such certainty,
proving to me
that forever does exist.

Now I know that words
are just words;
fragile and insubstantial,
nothing more than sounds
that please the ear.

Tell me no more words,
I will not listen.
They are stones
paving a desolate road,
and my shoes are old.

Bravo, well done!

Words, words, words, ...
You're right about them
Just words.

I loved this one.

reminds me of the BeeGee's song....
"It's only words and words are all I have to take your heart away"...and of course these words can really cause pain when they are not sincere or do not live up to our expectations...yet it is words that will eventually heal us...James

Ahhh, yes, words...in them we can find so much, yet so little.
Wonderfully written. *to you I applaud**

The tongue is sharper than any two-edged sword.... at least, that's what Paul thought.  I agree... words can cause more pain than we know.

Paul was absolutely right - words cause more pain than any weapon. Thanks to everyone for reading
