The Choice
The dark charcoal-gray sky shadows my face, leaving gapping scarlet holes in my heard where my eyes once rested.
As the rain beats down, the knocking of the dull, slowly penetrating, sorrow emerges.
The subtle feeling of cold, crimson, powerful hands firmly yet slightly squeezing my soul flows uninvited over me like a blood bath from head to foot.
This force blackening my being from the outside and from within, silently stalking patiently, pushing it’s prey into a gloomy submission.
Sex, age, and class build walls too short for this virus, as it just flows over them seeking its meal.
The feast this beast searches for is life, which only momentarily quenches it’s hunger as it soon returns for more from others.
No amount of fighting can pause it’s fury; this serpent cannot be stopped by you, or me.
Don’t hide in your denial, this monster will come for you.  Look for the light, invite it in, and hold on to it as if your life depends on it, because it does.
From the black pit, the light, the comforting warmth of one, Jesus Christ, erected my soul.
All else fail where he succeeds. Will your soul remain for the slaughter, or will you join me in everlasting life?

"Look for the light, invite it in, and hold on to it as if your life depends on it, because it does."

Yes, indeed, you are so very right!
Thank you!
