He’s drunk again...
He’ll come for me...
He’ll hurt me more if I run...
He’ll hurt me more if I run...

“Daddy, put down that cigarette.
Daddy! Please put it down...
It burns Daddy! ..please take it off...
...Please take it off...”

“Stop your crying *****!
And get me another beer...”
“Yes Daddy...here Daddy...”
He’ll hurt me more if I leave...

“Daddy, haven’t you had enough?
Daddy! ...please let me go...
You’re squeezing too hard!
...Please Daddy let me go...”

He’s passed out...
He can’t hurt me anymore...
Not tonight...no more tonight...
Not tonight...

-------------------------------
I found out today that a friend of mine is being abused by her father...I never saw it before..makeup always covered her bruises...but this time she had cigarette burns on her arms. The poem sucks, but I was going more for the story and feel...plus I needed to vent.

-Adam, about to go beat the living hell out of wall before he does it to something living.

Of all the things that I confess,
Here's one that is doubtless
I will love you always Jess
Never think I could love you less

Wow!  This was a very sad story to read.  You did a great job on the venting part.  I hope your friend gets help soon.  No one deserves this!!!!

Wow! I feel for your friend--My father was an abusive alcoholic, my mom left him when I was 12 & when he couldn't come see my lil brother & I anymore he then got help & he is the greatest now! But I can still remember them nights & I can still here is rumbling voice & smell his liquor breath!   LOVE ELMO

As hard as it is to read and hear about, it's much worse for your friend.  I urge you to tell someone: your parents, the authorities, a teacher.  Your friend has the right to feel safe in her home, not fear.  If there's any hope for helping her family, someone will need to step in and see that the father gets counselling.
