I only need close my eyes,
To feel the love and support,
Of those special people held close to me,
The ones with whom I share a rapport.

Or I only need read the words they've written,
Poetry or letters of friendship and love,
Words of laughter, support or understanding,
My gifts sent from above.

The very foundations of my life,
The tools with which I rebuild,
Hands of friendship spanning our world,
A gift of love the fates have sealed.

Distances seem not to matter,
Whether they be near or far,
Sometimes it is these people alone,
Who tend and salve my scars.

I thank God for them,
And the Lady too,
All the powers that be,
These kindred souls that help see me through.
