Jackie's Plot

I feel like saying
this is not fair.
For me to miss you so much
when you don't even care.
Why did you have
to kiss me so good?
Why weren't your lips
made of wood?
Why did you have
to melt in my arms.
You should of had thorns
all over your body
to set off my danger alarms.
Why did you have to
look into my eyes like that?
Why didn't you just tell me
I was ugly and fat?
Why did you have to
introduce me to all your friends?
Why couldn't you just lock me out
and not let me in?
Believe me or not
I still love you alot.
Oh now I get it.
It was all just a plot
to love me and leave me.
You can believe it or not.
Jackie I suppose some may say
you were way, way, way to hot.
And I was not.

Great flow to this poem, James, perhaps "Jackie" really had no idea what she would be missing out on...

Jackie called me in October and wanted me to come over and visit me from Maui...it's funny how situations change for now I have a new girlfriend I had to tell her that she better not come over...I suppose the best way to get over someone is to find someone new...James

This is great, & congrats about finding someone new! I feel like this from time to time, but I'm not strong enough for a new person yet, everyone I find cannot compare up to my last!   LOVE ELMO

I really liked this whole thing.  My favorite line was the one about the thorns.  That's really good.

Think I've read a couple things by you concerning Jackie -- parting is tough, especially when it's more one way than the other - or not wanted at all by one.

Agree fully with your comment about "finding someone else" - (we always do/will, you know) , it is definitely the best of all cures for what ails one and about 'still thinking of her'...I certainly hope so, and hope that you periodically always will, else you never meant anything you said about her.  One just cannot totally forget and never think of someone one has been so attached to - unless brain damaged of course...and some relationships I think leave some "brain-damaged".

Walk easy, my friend...

Hi James ...

This is really a nice piece ... Reminds me a lot of what happened to me a couple of years back.
Guess everyone would walk down this same path at some point in their life ...

Cheers,

Your emotional microcosm throughout this relationship is the premise of my life the past two and a half years. God sent someone special to me in answer to a prayer, but not without the understanding that he can provide opportunities, but we still make choices. The one who placed an "eternal mark" on my soul has not made the choices I would have expected or wanted...and yet in the somewheres of my mind, I still have faith. In the interim, the "light of an Angel" has been given to me to show that there are those out there that know what "purity" is...(and who "Purity" is and how much he is worth). Great poem, and I relate. Good luck in your new quests, and stay pure... it'll bring you all you deserve soon!

There are some people who leave a piece of themselves in our hearts aren't there?

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

WOW! Been awhile since I have been here. But I loved this poem, James.  It came straight from your heart and to me ....... thats excellent writing right there.  It's sad how some people seem to *want* to cause harm on another.  But hey! Think of it this way ..... everything comes back on that person with a more powerful kick. GREAT writing once again, James!

Thank you Elmo, JT, jwesley, verve, purity, Irish Rose, Tracey and Dark Kisses for reading and commenting...
purity I found your comments on opportunities and choices very interesting as this is the way I think...sometimes when we make choices we are not patient enough with the other one to allow them time to make a choice for us and sometimes we are too patient and the other person will in fact never be interested in us and we waste a chunk of our lives...some say that nothing is wasted but I felt that way when I waited to long for someone...it is our choice to decide how much energy we will apply to what we want and how long we will wait for someone we want...I believe God can soften hearts...but he is not necessarily on our side...he considers each of us equally...so he will not force someone to be interested in another...he will only allow opportunities...no one would want to be forced to love someone that they didn't truly care for...
Interestingly enough I have a new girl friend at this very moment but I am not sure how sincere she is and suddenly Jackie is calling me from Maui and telling me she wants to come and visit me and wants me to come visit her on Maui...I have already told her once not to come over...all of this after we had no contact for about nine months prior to this...can you tell if I still like her?   James

Thanks Tracey and Necro...
To others the name Jackie has no special magic but I will always remember some magic moments I spent with Jackie...James
