I stumble through each morning
and walk against the wind
seeing every present face
turn into that of him

as i twitch and shiver
anxiety runs so deep
i bet that i'd have nightmares
if only i could sleep

but i still see and smell him
feel his warmth on my skin
taste the salt of my silent tears
see him smile as he goes in

I can still feel his sweat
drop bead by bead on my neck
i know that these are feelings
i won't soon forget.

THis was a wonderful first post, though I am sure it was hard for you to write.  Were you a victim of a rape or something?  Excuse me for being blunt, but this is what it sounds like.  Anyway, I cant wait to see more of your work.

I need more time to find the real me...
to fly like the birds... to be set free.

Thank you for all your kind words everyone. They really mean a lot
And yes, just for the record, this is one of many poems I have written about my rapes. I was in an abusive relationship and during that time I experienced such things. I just feel lucky that I am able to communicate about it through my writing, and more over...get such great and positive responses for it.   thank you all for your support.

One of the best parts about this place? Is that you will find as you write about the pain, that you are not alone. Please accept my belated welcome, I understand the nightmare of your memories all too well.
