Bound By Your Words

No more, am I
bound by your words.
As each new days dance is viewed,
only cold penetrates
the warmth once held in memory.

Every morning, barely dressing,
looking over the wardrobe of yesterday
reminds, no kiss awaits the wakening,
no touch meets between the sheets.

When all is gone,
and words once held dear
move on to another,
every treasure echoed,
begins to fade.

Time may not heal,
distance may no longer
make the heart grow fonder.
This heart can no longer
be tamed by your eyes,
and will remain empty
come the fourteenth.

Frozen in time,
not to be touched
by another, I shall let go
of all questions
and look into the mirror
knowing gone, too, is the innocence,
that once brought us together.
