Staring blankly into the lonely night claws like dull razors tearing into my flesh fighting my inner demons seeing the casualties of this war family... friends... loved ones all seeming to disappear as this lonely shadow presses on fighting for my very life Falling to my knees unable to stand or even move weary of the deadly battel being waged seeing my enemies standing over me hearing their horrifying laughter knowing that they have finally beaten me Feeling the dark demons reach in taking hold of my heart fear gripping me tightly feeling so alone inside searching for a way of hope hoping to find someone "where is my family? where are my friends?" Trying desperately, crying out for help "Please! Someone please help me!" but only barely audible becoming whispers in the night Lying here now, broken and alone while these horrible monsters proceed to feast upon my heart and soul closing my eyes feeling the person I once knew slowly sinking into the abyss weeping silent tears feeling myself slip away praying to god to deliver me into the hands of death praying to god to help me find peace Fear destroys the mind, depression destroys the soul... only love and compassion may save you from death. |

wow!!...i loved this piece that went straight to my heart...i related to every verse in this poem...i thought the meaning behind this poem was written very well...thansk for the enjoyable read...  ...?if i die before i wake , i pray the lord my soul will take-"when thugs cry" |
