She is the elephant in the room that no one talks about.
She is the problem that no one troubles with.

She has troubles of her own,she didn't ask for them.
She thinks she creates them, but it's not her fault really.

She doesn't know who's fault it is,who caused it?
Who caused the pin pricks and the bright light?

They say she isn't very bright, because she won't talk.
She won't talk because no one listens.

No one listens,so they leave her in the corners,
Shades drawn to keep out the:
Troubles,Cares, and Faults, but most of all the sun.

much madness is divinest sense, and much sense the starkest madness~Emily Dickinson

"She won't talk because no one listens."
She should talk anyway.
I like the style and mood of this poem.
I get the feeling the person/speaker is alienated by choice, which makes it very sad.
Thanks, Sammi.

The speaker in this poetry is you and the character is a female(young age)in a mental hospital?

yes coyote and ilph, she is partly me,but i know what i feel can be ten times worse for someone else in a worse situation, therefore this poem is really about all people, male or female who have problems no one is brave enough to deal with. The islotation is partly chosen, because after you feel it from others so long you eventually learn to enforce it on yourself to save yourself the pain. And Xeonox i am surprised you picked up on the mental institution allusion!!I put that there mainly because i feel many people considered insane, autistic,or with nervous disorders are often thought of as stupid and unhandy, when in reality society can be closing out the most valuable minds of all.
Okay i'm done yacking lol, thank you all so much for you kind comments,i was so surprised!! Thanks

I enjoyed it, especially the end.

Thank you for reading my poetry. And I must agree with you, I really can't stand reading on the net, my eyes hurts. But when you can hold the poem in your hands it feels close, and some candles will set a perfect mood, this is how I write my poems too.

I'll be seeing you Samantha

A shadow is always connected to the light
to bad people dwell on the shadow
instead of looking for the light
that surely is there...
