RECLAIMING THE THRONE

I reveled in the Darkness, deep;
I closed my eyes but could not sleep.
For on my neck was felt his breath,
Yes, lingering above was Death.

And so, beneath the blissfull calm,
Gave I, to him, my voice in psalm --
With no answer, and so I wept;
Engrieved over the vow unkept.

Whereby some grizzly twist of fate;
To my senses came I too late --
There realized by visions past
The last were first, and all were last.

So by the Darkness sworn to me,
Reckoning Death to let me be,
Therein took Death's eyes as my own;
No, nevermore would grieve alone...

As in the night I hear him weep
In monotone whispers, yet sleep
Within the comforts of his bed;
In all the revelings of the dead.

His touch no more eluding me
I marvel that which cannot be.
All while seductive eyes accost
From me all held in vain and lost.

If, once, upon an earthly trial,
Or donned by a life of denial,
By ev'ry earthly cringe and groan,
I peacefully reclaim the throne.

Now let us all dance, clap and sing,
and welcome home beloved King!---

There was never a question in my mind.

I echo Serenity's words. It is always a pleasure to read your work.

Goodness, Michael!! Your writing is absolutely amazing. It looks like you haven't posted for a long time. I hope that you start again soon.

In the meantime, I'm going to the archives to read you.
Hugs
