I remember your first greeting…
It hangs above me, a fleeting
Memory from a forgotten world,
You were such an innocent then…

We became friends and kindred souls…
We were so free of scars and holes,
But now.  Now we have bought demons
With our perfect and strong friendship…

I waited for help, but you killed
Myself, my ego, and filled
My heart with jealousy and fire.
I am losing my mind now – gone…

My heart, now on it’s last and final drop
Of Blood and life so pure and sweet, stops…

What’s beyond here?
Adventure? Meaning? Or death?
But I lost myself…
Leaving my mind in that death
Fleeting meaning, final breath…

"If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh"

Interesting views, Frac.
I can particularly relate to these lines.

"We became friends and kindred souls…
We were so free of scars and holes,
But now.  Now we have bought demons"

Thanks.

Let's just say death of the soul at least...
Well written..

Thanks all for the replies.

I started this poem with the intention of writing something that was about two people who became friends and thensomething awful happened, like one of the committed some deadly sin.

But then I decided half way through that it might be interesting to write a poem depicting the relationship between body and mind/spirit in death.

So, this is indeed a rather unique one.  For me, anyhow.  I'm sure others have written of body and soul during death.  But thanks anyway for the replies.
