You feel a fluttering of leathery wings
brush quickly against your shoulder
a putrid scent envelopes you
and you gag upon it’s odor

then in a silver sliver of moon
the creature is revealed .
That which you see, cannot be;
you stop, your blood congealed.

A Devil hovers in the corner
fangs drawn at the ready
you reach out for the bed
legs suddenly unsteady

A God fearing soul, you always thought
an golden Angel would soon appear
but instead, the Devil came
to taunt you in your fear.

I like how this is writen, but i am sure there is alot of meaning that i don't see, but i still enjoyed it alot.  Write on.

There's a peace inside us all
Let it be your friend
It will help you carry on
In the end
There's a peace inside us all

For any God-fearing soul, to beseech Heaven in time of trouble to only have the Devil appear would be the greatest fear, and darkest moment, when their Faith was truly put to the test and found wanting. Oh, how I love unhappy endings.

Yes..Scary for sure, Devine. I like this a lot, and it is a treat since I don't see your writing often enough.
