In the darkling, cracks of night
Between midnight and morning
The mist of hope surrounds in flight
And fear calls out its warning

Come the day foretold by dawn
Shadows of night are feeding
To the old theme of love forlorn
While in darkness hate is breeding

The hushed tones of midnight chill
The softening scent of dawning
Move me on for good or ill
And faith is scattered, yawning

In early morning ere the day
In the darkling cracks of needing
Hope in sighs has slipped away
For those shadows aren't receding

Twixt the moonrise and the day
Shadow ideas are forming
And in the darkling cracks the way
Of truth and lies are storming

I'm enmeshed in evil's spill
Here within dawn's early chill

Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life.  Patty Hansen.

A bad place to be so early in the morning, eh? Oh well, I suppose its not so bad since I never was a morning person anyway.
I do love this piece that you have here. I can feel what is within it or at least I feel something within it..or is that the same. Ahh..no matter. I enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for the honor of reading it.

Loved every line Kethry,
but especially these four.

Come the day foretold by dawn

What can I say but I've been there, and you describe it so beautifully.
Loved this one Kethry

Very intense, Kethry!  You speak of torment and depression so vividly, I relate deeply. Excellent classical style, flow, emotion, and rhyme within this~

Take care,
Melissa~
