Searching for You

...and I love with my mind
while my heart belongs to another,
a face I have never seen
yet a longing so precious and clean.
...look into the eyes of one
while I stare into an emptiness
searching for the other
yet never seeing what I long for.
...listening to words that form on lips
while I read the others with my eyes
trying to push down the feelings
to pass them off as a lonely souls lies...

PS, I caught a feel to this of fantasy, that maybe the other wasn't a specific person but rather a wish or want of a specific kind of person? That could just be my relation to the meaning.

Your words are exactly why I never tread to the other side...things may look grand from a distance, but once you are standing there it may not be all it seemed.

Actually it was written about some one...yes, one of those fantasies that could be real if I really wanted, but is better left as it is now.
I read you other inturpritation after I reread the poem and you are so right, it could be just as you stated.

*gasps* Dearest Affy...Sweetness, you have touched and gripped my heart with this. I do KNOW this and it only takes this short poem to render me breathless. Be well...and I agree..don't put all your heart into that other side either. It might come back with grass stains. (((HUGS)))
