collapsar

He lives today in ice, breathing frost,
rime on glass and window sills,
weaving negligence, favors won and lost,
and dines on the frozen morning kill.
He sees the cold glare from a lowering sun,
black space, the blank stare of cold stars,
and infinite Orion.

It is the day of godless grace, painted scenes,
celebrated hate, digital streams,
electronic icons, vicious bravery, ordered chaos,
and processed light on figurines.

I sputtered and guttered at both ends, he says,
gnawing at the ugly and the dead
on the horizon of the collapsar.
And you sing as birds and doves,
of the beauty and love
of the suspended scimitar.

An alien vanished from his land,
he is a slave of the loud rush,
louder music, aeroplane trails,
and glacial hands.
The bitter wind reaching out,
he welcomes you a cold embrace
to truth.
He warms you to the Kelvin absolute.
He brings you good tidings.

It is the animal of stony light,
he will say,
that grunts I live, and live,
and live, and feel pain.
And eats the worms come out in rain.
It is water burning, vibrant death,
the forgotten red flayed thing.
He says, There be blind angels
walking the day.

I am innocent of love, remembering nothing
but sun, brown grass, dead sheep,
and seared leaves.
I was assumed. Healed at birth, showered,
grown from perfection,
a fluorescent, beautiful hour.

This is the curse:
delivered.
It is numbing here, and bitter cold,
biting to the bone.
How I ache for Spring.

And it is a long, long way
back home.

Great lines and great style, man.
I will save this and be reading it many times over.
Thanks!

coyote -- I'm glad you like it.  Thank you, and enjoy.

swamp -- Thank you also.  You appear to be in search of insanity.  Email me, if you want, and I will direct you to more madness.

mirror man,
your works always amaze me with their doppleganger effect and this is no exception. I would say it's very reflective but I don't want to be punny.
