Darkness descends upon me,
At the end of the day,
When Mother Earth shuts down for the night,
When the taunts begin their replay.

The beauty of the sunset,
The sky all aglow,
Visions lost all too soon,
As I battle this dark foe.

The birds all chirping goodnight,
Singing their song of rest to the setting sun,
Tis then the darkness descends,
And all my efforts come undone.

The picture of a radiant sunset,
A long forgotten memory,
As the lies, taunts and selfishness,
Crush down and wound me.

I try to hope for tomorrow,
But hope for what I ask,
Another day of repetitive nothing,
Floating in this sea of glass.

Others get what they want,
I get dose upon dose of pain,
I try to keep the faith and hope,
But the evil is part of the reign.

I fear for my soul,
The very light in me,
Don't want to become the evil I see,
God, will I ever again see a beautiful reality?

Very haunting read, Isis.
Today, I can "second your emotion".
Thanks.

Isis,
it's true when the night closes in we forget about the joys of the day. *HuGS*

Hi, how are you doing? This seems like things are not too well. I have heard this emotional cry come from my own heart, it sure is hard to keep dreaming and hoping for happiness, and be forever deprived of it.
Take care.

Yes, it does seem that when the sun goes down, our worst fears come out. Depression has no pity. Very well expressed.

This sounds a bit desperate. The ending especially..not wanting to become with the darkness, but at the same time wanting too. Oh well..hope that makes sense. I enjoyed this.

In the worst of times, let me drift beneath the cloak of Oblivion. I favor the night as it favors me.

I'm not desperate or in a severe depression, just describing the way we all sometimes feel.... Thanks for the concern guys!
