i'm so close to crying, but not quite there.

i used to play outside when i was a child, and
it didn't matter if mud found my face. it was
cool like the back of your hand. dry eyes replace
my neverneverland

but when it was night time i couldn't sleep, and
the helter skelter always came--my feet hit the floor.
i ran to mommy. my tiny hands scratched at her door
(mommy mommy MOMMY!) i implore

and now i find, mommy, that the monsters of
my childhood never went away. instead they waited
for me in my closet, under the bed. you always said
they'd go away.
p.s. Hey guys! I haven't posted here in a while, but I'm back for the moment. Although I'm having troubles with my computer, so I might not be able to psot as often as I'd like to. Love you all!

Ooh... this was quite the piece here.

"and now i find, mommy, that the monsters of
my childhood never went away. instead they waited
for me in my closet, under the bed. you always said
they'd go away."

This stanza is PERFECT.
Well done.

Welcome Back! We've missed you 'round here!
This was a cute little piece, that we could all relate too, been there ourselves once or twice! Thanks for the read!
