Well I . . .dreamt last night.
I dreamt of death,
darkened voids,
empty chambers,
peculiar lights.
I walked.
I walked down
cobblestone paths,
hidden rooms,
moistened earth.

Well I was . . . dreaming after all.
Still, I’m confused.
Confused and awake.
Those lights are
still there,
still swirling
above
and ahead--
dark hues,
purples and blues--
through thick fogs,
dampened walls.

Was I . . . really there?
My skin is cold,
so cold,
sweaty too.
My heart drums.
Fast.
Too Fast.
I cannot . . .
close my eyes,
shut out the lights,
those peculiar lights.

Was I well . . .
or had I . . .
gone insane?
Who can tell?
These things
I say
seem strange,
so very strange.
Yet those lights,
they still
feel real,
and are still
within
the grasp
of my
long, bony fingers--
pale, ancient skin--
quivering
as they
reach out,
longing
to touch
those lights,
that whirlwind
of lights,
and, maybe
(if you’re there)
your flesh.
Ah, yes,
your flesh;
your beautiful,
living flesh.

Dance with me under the moon. Touch my pale skin. Devour me. Love me.

Up to par with the best as usual..Sometimes there is such a fine line between that which is reality and the abstract, and when in a state of mental confusion it is hard to differentiate. Great job Todd loved the analogies used in this one.

I enjoyed this too!! So many analagies and conflicting emotions here, many possibilities too! Reality sux and sometimes the dreams aren't much better! LOL
