How Long Before the Night Shall End?

The road to power is over run.
The need to win is number one.
The bodies fall in the path,
and death is but an aftermath.

The greed for more takes its place.
The road too love is a dying race.
The smell of fear is in the air,
and the stench of death is everywhere.

The mountains tremble and the lakes run dry.
The birds that would sing no longer fly.
The oceans roar as they beat the land,
and in the mist death takes its stand.

The life was born for love, but raised to hate.
The world shall have its own fate.
The love of life is a passing glance,
but a flicker of light is our last chance.

The choice is ours to take.
The right of all to claim their stake.
The last day in life shall the curtain fall,
and in that night we'll surrender all.
