there was a time when I would have said that
you would never fly again

you remember those times don't you?
when darkness was all that lay before you
and light seemed not only far away,
but a myth
something that you could even imagine being real in your life
you had heard about it, but you weren't even sure
if you remembered what it was

and so, with clipped wings, you moved through
the darkness. . . flittering about,
never really flying. . .
but knowing that you had to keep moving
or be captured by the nets
and mounted in the box to be put on display for all to see
and for none to hold

but then, you entered the chrysalis
amazed that it was still there. . .
you thought that you had cast if off long ago
thought that it had been burned from the tree
but yet. . . there it was
and so, you entered. . .

and there, you learned, you grew
you came to know yourself as you really are
the spirit of life filled you with the
power of love and light
and you became again
became that which you were meant to be all along. . .

open your wings now Butterfly. . .
open your wings and sail on the winds of the spirit
flying away from the dark
escaping the nets of the hunter
and finding the love of the flowers
for in them is your life
in you is their song. . .

go now Butterfly,
go to them. . . they need you
they need your love and your tender, gentle touch. . .
they have been waiting for you. . .

fly Butterfly. . . fly free. . .

This Ulysees (?) butterfly thanks you Sven. I love how you understand me so well - analagy or no, and this butterfly would rather die than fly in darkness again!!!
Thankyou dear friend, for always understanding... *hugs*

You got to get up every morning with a smile on your face
and show the world all the love in your heart
Then people are gonna treat
