Surcease

Between the tides of emotion
I rest on the sands of release,
To capture a fragment of rapture
From the warmth of a fleeting peace...

Till incoming waves break in madness
Reshatt'ring my soul...and then,
Appeased for the time by destruction,
Return to the sea again.

Leaving but lace-work in spindrift,
Like tears on a silvered chain...
And a figure prone in submission
To the strength of a lasting pain.

ooo, so soft and heavy, hits right at the heart. Are you sure you won't write anymore??? I hope to get your book soon, I should be in the house by the end of this month. I want your book very much!
As always, I love it!

With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free..

Another great one Rex!

Whenever I read your works I always seem to hear this Shakespeare type guy in my head, hand clutched to his chest, whilst the other is outstretched to whomever the piece is meant for!! Loved reading it... take care!!
