Another 27?

And will the sadness double
when you're fifty-four
or will you learn to live a day
as never lived before?

Mistakes will twice the many
sorrows will come in fours
you will have cried the limit
but do not close the doors.

Search each day tomorrow
for the feelings you will win
there will be that gentler place
you'll find some peace within.

Temptress*,
Glad you liked this litle piece.  Got to thinking after I did it that I should have asked but when I read your poem it had "response" written all over it so I just sat down and did it.
Kethry,
Thanks for the read.  Glad you think it worked.  (I can't tell sometimes)
Dark_,
Hey, 30's not so bad!  Some get better with age you know and you are probably among them.  Let me be the first to wish you a Happy 'B' Day.

Hey, Krawdad. This reminds me of that Beatles song "When I'm 64" (?) or something like that. Very uplifting. (not that I really need uplifting, you understand). Good work.

Oops! Guess what? This thing came out in triplicate. Let's see if it does it again? (heh heh).

Rats. It didn't work.
