Between a laugh and a tear...

0 posted 2001-02-04 06:00 AM

This poet's pen, ink runs dry
I've no more tears, can't even cry
Heart flung open for all to see
Yet still I ask, is it truly me?

Thoughts once conveyed without a care
Now into my mind I blankly stare
Told of dreams and life's heavy load
But now I'm lost, can't find the road

It matters not to me, I shall have no care
I'll do what's right, and welcome my despair
A mask worn by many but it fits me well
You'll see a happy soul, but please don't dwell!

" I have seen without perceiving
I have been another man
Let me pierce the realm of glamour
So I know just what I am"....Dweller on the Threshold,

So mournful...but as the eagle circles, so does life....and hope renews!  (Luckily your photo proves this mood - if yours at all - is only temporary *g*)

Eagleone,
I hope this isn't a goodbye poem in a mask. It has shades of it. Say it isn't so!

Well done here!
The flow is wonderful. A great read!

DKW ~ I don't know why we wear them but at times they can be so hard to get rid off. Take care!

Lary ~ There are times when the circle seems endless, either that or I'm going around faster.

Paula ~ Always there with a wise word aren't you! Thankyou!

Kethry ~ It isn't so!!   Did that sound believable?     It actually started out that way but despite my moods I think I would find it very hard to leave.

Dopey_Dope ~ Thanks, glad you enjoyed!

G. A. Webb ~ I hope you can get passed that feeling, take care!

Eagle One, you write a great verse and I can't believe it is anything but that!  Who could not "love" you with the beautiful poems from your pen.  Great as usual.  Hugs,ME

Mother Earth ~ 'tis hard to reply to your response.  I write what I feel, it's the only way I know and yes it is me.  I thank you for your comments, take care!

Kathleen ~ Some how I thought you might, it saddens me that you know the feelings though. I will miss you around here, take care!

i offer you a crowbar--to 'off' that mask!

i do dispise the fact that we sometimes find it necessary to wear those darned masks...i say, feel what you feel..get it out, let it bleed--let the poison sift itself out..be civil to people, but not masked....then when its all done, you will live again ...

just my thoughts... sometimes, easier said than done..but i do agree with what paula said...the right person can reach beyond your mask...pull out the real you..and help you shake the demons free..i've done it..its possible ..

hugs to you! g

Your ME is beautiful hon. This write is how we all feel at times, sort of powerless, and that we just must sit back and take what life throws at us. But I don't believe life is that way, and neither should you no matter how melancholy you feel...

G ~ In one form or another we all wear the masks, some for ourselves, some for others. I'm glad you were able to free yourself from the demons and live again, it gives one hope to know its possible. You know I always appreciate your thoughts, take care!

Isis ~ Melancholy is the right word for the moment I think. I'm just gong through one of my phases I think, at least I hope so. Your words give me the faith to keep trying to spread these wings and fly, thank you!

I'll never leave this place, I tried, it's iingrained into me I guess, and those sad feelings?  They fade in time...but never truly go away.

I so enjoy reading your writings. Though a mask you may wear from time to time the real you shows in your creations..that is one thing you cannot hide..for we all see what you feel.

Sue ~ …mmm..I think I'll have to have another look in the mirror…..lol. I thank for your kind comments, I hope you can't relate too closely though, take care!

Kathleen ~ Your words as always my friend hold much truth, take care!

KitKat ~ I often wonder if we ever really know ourselves. I do think we tend to loose our mask when we write, I write from the heart, sometimes that is good others not so, but it is all I know. I thank you for reading and adding your thoughts, take care!

anonymous albert ? ~ I think I would find it hard to stop writing now, I'm glad you enjoyed, take care!
