The idea for this poem came from a Nine Inch Nails song.  The lines popped into my head after reading a poem here on passions.  And after sitting here for a while thinking about them i came up with this.  What do you all think? of course it isn't perfect yet, but i love input and sugesstions so please feel free

"All I do I can still feel you".....

All I do I can still feel you,
In my head when i go to bed,
I thought that you were gone,
I had taken so much time to erase you,
Now when I am with him,
I find myself thinking back,
To the times when we were US,
When our names were one word,

Every now and then I wish you were here,
There were things that only you knew,
You were the one who always understood,
Now with someone else I can feel you,
The way you used to touch me,
Kiss me goodnight at 3 a.m.,
The hugs that always seemed so safe,
The way you made love to me every night,

Sometimes I hear things,
They seem like things you would say,
It has been forever since I cried,
About the end of US,
The memories of last New Years flood in,
Under it all I can feel your hand,
The way it tried to hold mine,
I can feel the look of your eyes on me,

Sometimes I feel your tears,
Hitting my face when i finally hugged you,
Then told you good bye one last time,
I can still feel the blank stare,
I feel the way my heart broke,
When i thought you were different,
The useless apologies brushing against my ear,
"All I do I can still feel you"

< !signature-->

"I'll build a wall if we can keep them on the other side"---NIN
"There is no always forever, just this"-the cure

"When we were us" lamentation too many, nay all have breathed. You speak for self and all.

The point
of our humanity
dulled

in dissolution
and yet

we wander on
wondering

      why

Ginners...
So many have asked the same question and felt these same things.. but, soon, that ache will become less and less, and though the US becomes ME, you'll have the stregnth to accept it and maybe even enjoy it. Good luck!
