Cynical Universe

In my mind I chase you
across your cynical universe
of lurid comfort.
Still I can't
touch your soul.
Sometimes my darkness
doesn't wash away
the pain.
Your thorns be
my only pleasure.
My bound and bleeding hands
always reaching out
to embrace
your elusive reality.
