Somethings are funny like
smoked coffee in shag carpet.
all the while steam is coming up
and we breath in the life
that is just sitting here
And i'm in the corner
minding my own buisness
when you have to catch my eye
knowing that i'll never be the same
that when you touch my hand
i'm gonna crumble right there
And people are shedding all over
i'm chipping too, but i don't know
if it is the hardness falling off...
or if i'm just revealing myself.
So, next time you look my way
and you feel my very essence
there on your hand moving it's
way up your arm and through you
Before you can see in my eyes
what it is to hand you my heart
Listen around you...
as the people laugh at my spilled
tears on the shag carpet .

So sad that yearning that fear to let the emotions show... wonderful descriptions though!!

Isis...

thank you for your reply...  This was a poem i wrote at the beginnings of having feelings for someone.  All the fears of getting hurt again came rushing back...

Nicely written here.  I too know the feeling of being *scared* to love again.  I have chased many away just because of that.  The scars that others leave on our lives is sometimes so unbearable.  Yet we seem to move on, someway, somehow.

WOW!!!
strong emotions penned
though I too am a hopeless romantic
Put it this way
Don't be unfair to yourself by allowing fear to overcome you
The right guy might come and go cause you're scared
well, before I start sounding like a chinese monk, i'll zip my mouth now

beautiful read and be strong

I tend to think of myself as a hopless romantic meets perpetual cynic.

Simply great! Was envisioning that gross
green shag carpet they peddled in the 60's.
Or was it red/orange???
oops...giving away my age here.
Love the read! Good imagery.
