a sacred garden withers here
where lovefruit grew
maybe even yesterday

(please)
don't leave me dried up

desperate

i'm certain
for a moment
day
week

i bore the most beautiful fruit
known since eden
scarlet berries glistened in day's first light
surrounded by lush crystalline fauna

one frosty day
and it wilts

was it ever really that beautiful,
or is memory deceitful?
look at the dried blood berries
and cracking darkened leaves
they could never have offered so fine a taste
as my daydreams imagine

   they must have
   tell me that you tasted
   tell me they were perfect
   anyone-
   please...
   i know they must have

   they must have

all i want is sulight
all i need is a warm spring rain

one more chance to bloom
to prove beauty
to taste sweetness it it's fullest
to save the garden i love

Tend those blooms and fruits in your souls' garden don't let them die for lack of light and love.

Jannel, this is so plaintive, and poignant. It's a lovely piece of work...

'was it ever really that beautiful,

as my daydreams imagine'

It's true that memory can be deceitful - we often create our memories...sigh, sometimes it is better that way I think.

great job
