i'm required,
to learn,
something,
i learned,
when i was little,
just so,
they know for sure,
i wasted 3 hours a week,
in my short adult life,
to have it clarified,
by the head of the class.

thanks mr. teacher,
but can't you just give me the credit,
and let me go home and sleep,
teach me something i need to know--
like how to find a wife,
i haven't had a girlfriend in so long--
(i don't want one right now,
but...)
it would be nice,
or you can teach me
how to get a job,
because,
my parents are not going to keep me,
that long--

why am I required,
to learn how,
to use a computer,
when I already know?
(just to become a history teacher)

This is so true!  Why do schools teach us stuff that we will probably never use again when what we really need to know are the things that will help us live.  Nice poem.  I fully agree with the message.  Thanks for sharing.  Keep posting...

ya know what I hate? PE classes...ya know of course that we are gonna play all of the games I don't like to play....and of course, I'm gonna have to play......grrr. I hate "physical education" why do I have to know how to play football?? I don't need the knowledge in everyday life!!!!! (done venting nwo, lol)

I just think they should have a pretest, and if you pass they give you the credit hours, you know?  I'm okay with classes i need as a requirement, but i won't use, but don't know the certain subject, but classes i totally know, they should just give me the credit hours (have a preassessment test).  And I loved P.E. except that all my p.e. teachers have  been sexist, and i got in trouble one time for making a crude remark about how if I had some girl body parts I would of had an A, oh well, after that my teacher gave me an A, anyways, i'm getting fat now, a p.e. class would be good for me (maybe help me attract a future somebody!)

(i'm required to take 1 Credit Hour of P.E.!!! i'm going to do it in a 4 week course in August)

I liked this one a lot cept for the fact that you put comas after each line.....I didn't think it was necessary. Anyhow nicely done.

You see, I thought about that, I usually put the commas in later, in spaces that need comma's for extra pause's, or just because it will look good there, but when i wrote this, i wanted everything to be fragmented, because i was writing it in class, if i wrote it normal, you wouldn't of got those breaks in it (the commas), when i switched screens when the teacher was looking, that was the whole purpose of my overhaul on commas.

If i wrote it normal and fluid, it would just be a poem about "sitting in some boring college requirement class", however i wanted people to understand i was "sitting in some boring college requirement class"
